3Dio FS Pro II

The 3Dio Free Space Pro II (FS Pro II) is a binaural stereo microphone built around a pair of human-shaped ears, with a matched DPA 4060 omnidirectional capsule set at the entrance of each ear canal. Because the ears filter sound the way yours do, recordings played back on headphones place the listener in the room, with sounds clearly coming from left, right, front, behind and above.

It's a favourite for ASMR, VR and 360 video, immersive podcasts, sound design, nature and ambience recording, and capturing live music from the audience's point of view. The DPA capsules keep the noise floor low, so quiet scenes stay clean.

Power is flexible: phantom power feeds the two balanced XLR outputs (left and right ear), while the internal 9V battery runs the 3.5mm stereo output for plugging straight into a camera or portable recorder.
