Ambient QXS 5100-CCM

The Ambient QXS 5100-CCM is a five-section carbon fibre boom pole from Ambient's QXS Quickpole Light series, made for ENG, documentary and film work. It extends from 1.0 m to 4.2 m, enough to reach over most wide shots and groups, and this CCM version has a coiled mono XLR cable installed inside the pole.

The QXS line was designed to be light, and at about 745 g, the pole stays comfortable overhead through long takes and walk-and-talks. Thin carbon fibre tubes keep it stiff and steady at full extension, and aluminium fittings handle daily use on set.

Because the cable is coiled inside the tubes, it stretches and retracts as you extend or collapse the pole, with nothing wrapped around the outside to rub or catch on the set. Connect the microphone at the tip, and run an XLR cable from the outlet on the side of the base to your recorder or mixer. A dependable mid-length boom to rent in Montréal for interviews, documentaries, series and commercials.
