Ambient QXS 5100-CCM

The Ambient QXS 5130 is a long-reach, five-section carbon fibre boom pole with an internal XLR cable, built for film, TV, ENG and documentary sound. It extends to 5.4 m, enough to get the microphone over a wide shot or a group of people, and folds down to 1.3 m for transport.

Thanks to its five sections, it packs small for its reach while staying light for a pole this long, at about 925 g. The cable runs inside the pole, so there's nothing to wrap around the tubes or catch on the set: connect the microphone at the tip and your recorder or mixer at the base. Internal felt bushings keep the sections quiet when you extend, adjust or rotate the pole during a take.

The knurled aluminium locking collars give a firm grip, even with gloves, and hold the sections without slipping or twisting. A solid stainless steel 3/8" thread at the tip takes a shock mount or mic holder. A dependable long boom to rent in Montréal for features, series and commercials.
