The AMBEO VR Mic is an innovative ambisonic microphone designed for 360° spatial audio recording. With its four matched KE 14 capsules arranged in a tetrahedral formation, it captures sound from all directions at a single point, resulting in fully spherical ambisonics sound that complements VR video and 360° content. The microphone is part of a high-end audio chain, working seamlessly with specialized software and hardware such as Zoom F8 field recorders, Avid Pro Tools HD, and binaural decoders. This integration allows for immersive audio experiences ideal in VR game engines or social media platforms.

Developed with input from industry professionals through Sennheiser's VR Creators Program, the AMBEO VR Mic comes with a comprehensive product package, including the A-B encoder software plugin for post-production. The microphone delivers an A-format raw 4-channel output, converted into the Ambisonics B-format via the Sennheiser AMBEO A-B format converter plugin. This B-format allows listeners to experience sound in a fully immersive 3D space. Backed by Sennheiser's 70-year history of quality, the microphone ensures reliability and robustness, with additional peace of mind provided by a two-year warranty.
