Sennheiser SK 2000 (Gw: 558 - 626 MHz)
The Sennheiser SK 2000 is a professional bodypack transmitter from Sennheiser's 2000 Series. This unit works in the Gw band, 558 to 626 MHz, and pairs with an EK 2000 camera receiver or an EM 2000 rack receiver set to the same band, for wireless lavaliers, headsets and instruments.
Its 3-pin connector accepts Sennheiser lavalier and headset mics, such as the MKE 1-4 and MKE 2-4, and also takes a line-level signal or a guitar cable adapter. The input gain adjusts over 60 dB in 3 dB steps, so it handles a whisper on set as well as a loud stage voice. Sennheiser's HDX compander keeps the sound clean and quiet, and the RF output can be switched between 10, 30 and 50 mW to balance range against battery life and the number of systems on site.
The all-metal housing is small and tough enough for daily work in film, broadcast, theatre and events. Settings are synced from the receiver by infrared in seconds, and two AA batteries last about 8 hours. Rent it in Montréal with a matching receiver and lavalier for a complete wireless channel.
