Tentacle Sync E

The Tentacle Sync E is a tiny wireless-controlled timecode generator that keeps cameras and audio recorders in sync. Attach one to each camera and recorder, and every clip carries the same timecode, so editors can line up picture and sound in seconds instead of matching claps by hand.

Its temperature-compensated crystal oscillator drifts less than one frame in 24 hours, so units set in the morning stay in sync all day. Each Tentacle can run as the master clock or jam-sync from another timecode source. Setup and monitoring happen over Bluetooth with the free Tentacle app on iOS or Android, which shows every unit's status and battery at a glance.

For cameras without a timecode input, a built-in reference mic records a scratch track while the Tentacle sends timecode as audio, which Tentacle's software can then use to sync the files.
