Sennheiser EK 500 G4 (Aw+: 470-558 MHz)

The Sennheiser EK 500 G4 is a portable camera receiver from the evolution wireless G4 500 Series. This unit works in the AW+ band, 470 to 558 MHz, and pairs with an SK 500 G4 bodypack or a G4 handheld transmitter on the same band. It also works with earlier evolution wireless generations set to matching frequencies.

Built for film, documentary and ENG crews, it mounts on a camera with the CA 2 adapter or sits in a sound bag or on a cart. Adaptive diversity keeps reception steady, and the balanced line output feeds a camera, mixer or recorder at a clean, strong level. A separate 3.5 mm headphone output lets the operator check the signal on the spot.

The wide 88 MHz tuning range makes it easier to find clear frequencies on busy sets, and infrared sync sends the chosen frequency to the transmitter in seconds. The metal housing is light and tough, and two AA batteries last about 8 hours. A reliable workhorse to rent in Montréal for any shoot that needs wireless lavs.
